Worship is more than an act
It comes from the heart
Worship is a tool
It involves you as a whole person
It takes all our strength,
Our entire mind
And all our body to love God enough
To become living sacrifices for Him
Worship is a lifestyle
It’s how you walk & talk
It’s letting go of the old you
And placing God in its place
Worship is love
Forgetting how great you are
And surrendering
It’s allowing to be transparent
Without walls or barriers
It’s the entity of a living relationship
Without conditions
It is the evidence of submission
Without fear or doubt
Worship is nothing else but truth
Worship is God.

The truth is- is that I’ve become addicted to searching for great worship songs. Now don’t get me wrong… worship is worship. Its just that leading worship for youth is so different than leading worship for adults. When I was a teen in youth service we sang everything the adults did and it seemed okay. Now-a-days music is different and has a different sound. Tonight I’ve been doing some online searching for some new worship songs and have not found anything to my likings. I don’t know if I’m just being “picky” or is my spirit “discerning” what will be effective for our teens.
Sometimes I wonder what would happen if new songs were not written and worship went back to hymnals. Again… don’t get me wrong I love hymnals for you traditional folk but there’s so much more out there. Being transparent here… I’ve been wanting to write my own songs. You know, being a psalmist like Mr. D in the great book of Psalms but idk I just can’t seem to launch it. Any suggestions? I think if I really applied myself more and bought myself one of those little voice recorder thing-a-ma-gigies it would help. Here are a few worship songs I’ve found that minister to me and some have been a hit in our youth services. However, if you haven’t heard these songs yet, I highly recommend you do.. enjoy!!
- Worshiping You by Deluge (Jonathan Stockstill)
- Pleasing to You, Here In Your Presence, & Overcome by Desperation Band
- Universe Bows by VMusic
- How He Loves Us by Kim Walker
- Desert Song, Came to My Rescue, Mighty to Save, & Savior King by Hillsong
- Wrap Me In Your Arms by Martha Munizzi
- Your Love Is Like, Alabaster Jar, & When I’m With You by Christ for the Nations
- Alone & In Your Glory by Clint Brown.

These past two weeks have been so crazy for me. Last Tuesday I woke up in the middle of the night with a terrible toothache. The entire left side of my face was hurting super bad. I felt terrible for keeping my husband awake and have him endure my whining… he was a good sport though. Well to make a long story short, I had to put up with the infection and take lots of medicine and today I finally went and got a root canal. I am happy to say that the procedure was successful and in 20 minutes I was back to myself again:)
Through this whole process I’ve had to continue singing and leading worship. I’m sure you can just imagine how my face was ready to fall off at any moment but thankfully I pulled through quite well. We introduced a new song called “Pleasing to You” by Desperation Band. If you have not heard this song yet then stop what your doing and go listen to it. We had such a great worship experience on Wednesday. In fact, I’ve been singing it since then. Trust me… you’re gonna love it:)
In the spirit of Valentines, when I got home this morning from my procedure, my husband had a beautiful display of gifts for me. He gave me all sorts of adorable stuff like a card, balloons, flowers, chocolates, cute heart jammies, & the whole works. I’m so thankful and honored to know that I have someone who not only loves me but puts up with my crazy two weeks worth of tooth pain. Although this has been a tough two weeks… having Jesus and him by my side have been so worth it.
