What a week!! As it turns out I got sick all over again :/ Well it I found out that this “bug” going around has a certain technique to its attack. First, for about two or three days, you get sniffles and fever then, right after, you get better for another three or four days. Right when you think you are in the clear… it hits you like a freight train. I’m talking about everything from high fever to mocos (I know, tmi), lol. I so wish someone would have warned me about this. Anybody!! Needless to say, I’m feeling so much better and I all I have to deal with is just an annoying cough. Well being sick and all, we had an awesome pastors & leaders conference. It was such a blessing! Our very own, Pastor Jaime Loya,  gave an awesome word and my life was truly transformed and blessed. Anyhow, during the time I was at home resting, I had time to surf the web and check out some SNL (Saturday Night Live) videos. If you are a Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig fan, you will love this. I must have watched it 20 some odd times and laughed so much. I couldn’t keep it to myself, so I’m sharing with you. I may be part of the only few out there but Thanksgiving and Christmas are my two most favorite holidays. They are a time of giving and being thankful. I’ll tell you one thing I am thankful for… the summer heat and humidity being GONE! Seriously, I can wait for the first day of winter. You know, when you open your door in the morning and realize that its sooooo cold you have to go back for a sweater. Brrrrrr, I love sweater weather and of course not excluding the hats, jackets, scarves, and boots. There is something about winter that makes life so much more pleasant. Drinking hot coco, eating smore’s and watching The Grinch all snuggled in blankets. I know, sounds really cheesy but it’s so true. As busy as we become, we get so lost in buying presents and preparing for celebrations that we forget to embrace the moments in between. The holidays, although bitter to some, gives me the opportunity to be grateful about having my husband and my family by my side. Even though some have passed and are no longer with me, I’m thankful that they impacted my life when they were here. I don’t know, maybe it is about the presents and turkey or maybe not. Whatever the case, I’m taking it day by day and giving thanks.

Growing up, we traveled around the states because my father was an evangelist. He later planted a church in San Benito, Texas that is now Valley International Christian Center *the greatest church ever.  For such a long time I saw the things my parents had to do to “survive” in the ministry.  I saw everything they endured from growing spiritually to providing for a family, faith was everything.  There was no other way to think about how our finances were going to met, whether school supplies were going to be available, or if a whole meal was promised at the end of every evening.  No questions asked, just faith.

Getting married to a preacher/minister, I wondered if we would have to face the same things my parents did. To be honest…  for a while I was quite resistant to thinking that ministry was what I really wanted to do. I often questioned if ministry was going to pay my bills? Okay, I know you might be thinking… who would resist ministry? But let’s be real here, the economy is not great and our beloved country is trying to overcome a crisis.  Being newly-weds the last thing I want to think about is not being able to get a house, or a new car, or go to destination vacations.  However, thinking that way has taught me a lesson.

Where do you let go and how? It is so easy to talk about faith but never walk in it.  I’ve challenged myself to raise the bar in my giving and I plan to do the same with my tithes. When was the last time you challenged God? When was the last time you put faith to the test? The word of God says that faith is not by seeing but by hearing of the Word of God. All across the bible, its speaks truth and revelation over how God has provided. There are countless stories where God’s blessing are upon those who seek him and trust him.

Wow, I know this is a long blog but man do I feel encouraged!! I challenge you to do the same. Step out of the boat like Peter and know that even though you don’ t know if the next step is secure… remember that your one step closer to Jesus!! He is all we need!!! Faith is without measure!!!
